I'm a visiting professor of journalism and media studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; a former editor at Men’s Health magazine; and a journalist whose work has appeared in Scientific American, Men’s Journal, Outside, FiveThirtyEight, Cosmopolitan, Details, and others.
I write about the most important people, places, ideas, and things impacting human health and performance. But I've also written about topics such as women in the military and men who commit terrible crimes.
I'm from Utah, and have a master’s degree in science, health, and environmental journalism from NYU. When I'm not writing, I'm on the ground reporting, training for my next adventure, or hanging with my hunting dog, Stockton.
